{"id":6,"date":"2003-09-07T10:06:36","date_gmt":"2003-09-07T15:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bikeforest.com\/?p=6"},"modified":"2008-03-02T15:29:55","modified_gmt":"2008-03-02T20:29:55","slug":"scotts-bachelor-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bikeforest.com\/?p=6","title":{"rendered":"Scott&#8217;s Bachelor Party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Les didn&#8217;t think there&#8217;d be enough time to do the triathlon that morning, but Scott was pretty pumped to do it.\u00a0 This was his day afterall.\u00a0 I&#8217;d worked things out, and the way I saw it, if we left Wasaga Beach immediately after the race, we&#8217;d easily make it back in time to shower and get to the restaurant\u00a0for Scott&#8217;s big bachelor party.\u00a0 I told Les the only possible reason we could be late is if we got into a car accident or something.\r\n<\/p><p>\r\nNeedless to say, when I called home to tell everyone about the accident, Les thought I was pulling his leg.\u00a0 As we stood by the side of the road watching as the fire department hosed down the other driver&#8217;s upturned van, I cursed myself for every random decision I&#8217;d ever made that landed me at this particular place at this particular time.\r\n<\/p><p>\r\nFortunately, no one was hurt and it was the other driver that was charged.\u00a0 After a brief interrogation, Alex, Scott and I were free to head back to Waterloo in our newly taco&#8217;d car.\r\n<\/p><p>\r\nIn the end, we were only an hour late for the party and definitely ready to have a good time.\r\n<\/p><p>\r\nAfter the meal, we took Scott out to the parking lot where the couchbike was waiting.\u00a0 We gave him a T-shirt with various tasks printed on the back that he&#8217;d need to complete throughout the evening.\u00a0 The first task was a trip through the McDonald&#8217;s drive thru.\r\n<p>\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/cb\/drive_thru_couch1.jpg\" alt=\"Couchbike drive thru\" title=\"Couchbike drive thru\" class=\"blackborder\" \/>\r\n<\/p><p>\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/couchbike_drive_thru1.jpg\" alt=\"Couchbike drive thru\" title=\"Couchbike drive thru\" class=\"blackborder\" \/>\r\n<\/p><p>\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/couchbike_drive_thru2.jpg\" alt=\"Couchbike drive thru\" title=\"Couchbike drive thru\" class=\"blackborder\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Couchbike at McDonalds Drive Thru\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_HDrGNicN4c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\r\n<\/div><\/figure>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/couchbike_speedbump.jpg\" alt=\"Couchbike about to hit a speed bump\" title=\"Couchbike about to hit a speed bump\" class=\"blackborder\" \/>\r\n<\/p><p>\r\nAs we worked our way from bar to bar, Scott also had to keep his eye out for a good Britney Spears lookalike. There was a certificate for the girl we thought was the best match.\r\n<\/p><p>\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/couchbike_britney.jpg\" alt=\"Britney Spears\" title=\"Britney Spears\" class=\"blackborder\" \/>\r\n<\/p><p>\r\nThe couchbike was fun to ride, but sometimes it got a bit crowded.\r\n<\/p><p>\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/couchbike_taxi.jpg\" alt=\"Couchbike taxi\" title=\"Couchbike taxi\" class=\"blackborder\" \/>\r\n<\/p><p>\r\nThere was another certificate to give out to the best looking girl with glasses. It was a\u00a0tough call, but we found a deserving recipient. What a night.
